Interstate State Park

We did lots of hiking. I love the trail length and difficulty at this park - you really feel like you're hiking (as opposed to taking a walk) but the kids can still handle it. The views are gorgeous, too.

Amelie crawled all over the ground. She didn't care whether it was rocks, dirt, grass, or sand. They all stuck to her. This was the filthiest my little baby has ever gotten! She's getting slightly better about not putting everything in her mouth too. We fished out quite a few dangerous objects, but we were frequently able to get more than an arm's length away from her! I could tell that we'd relaxed a little when she started chewing on Elizabeth's Crocs and I was relieved that she couldn't choke on them!

It was fun to be with the Warzechas. Elizabeth and Isabelle have a great time together. Isaac and I enjoy Matt and Heather. And Amelie loved watching their little Corgi and their 2-year-old run around!

I love to explore the potholes near the park. I could spend all day there. So could Elizabeth - there's some great climbing!

Here's the view from inside a pothole.

It was really hot in the sun, and we spent the 4th of July hanging out at a beach. Amelie loved it. She crawled all over in the water and laughed whenever a wave splashed her legs.

Aren't the girls cute together?

Isabelle wasn't as big a fan of climbing as Elizabeth is, but she dutifully followed along most of the time.

Amelie spent a lot of hiking time in the backpack. She slept through the night both nights, so all of us are much better rested than last time! (She still woke up around five, but that happens at home too.)

We hiked up a bluff with tons of steep staircases. Back at the bottom, the kids played in a little stream while we adults took turns racing up a long section of stairs. My thighs were pure Jello after my second run at it!

All in all, I'd definitely go back to Interstate and I look forward to camping with the Warzechas again!
