One of the parenting magazines (I forgot if it's Parents or Parenting) has a little section called "It Happened to Me!" In it, parents relate strange or unlikely injuries that affected their family. I've got one to submit!
I took the girls to a family festival in the park on Saturday. They had one of those little fishing booths where a hidden person attaches a treat to the end of a kid's fishing pole. When it was Elizabeth's turn, she pulled hard on the fishing pole when she felt resistance. The hidden person tugged back in return, and then let go suddenly. The clothespin and attached Tootsie Roll pop flung out of the booth and smacked Elizabeth in the face, splitting the top of her nose.
That's right. She got injured while pretending to fish. Think we have a chance of getting in the magazine?
