While we didn't expect to buy a second new (used) car in 6 weeks, God is faithful to provide and to lead and direct us. We bought a white '98 Chrysler Town and Country, which is essentially the exact same minivan as we had before, but with 80,000 fewer miles, no rust spots, a CD player, and a driver's side door that unlocks! (No, we don't particularly like white cars; they just keep being the cheapest ones on the lot!) We went from a combined 406,000 miles to less than 200,000 in 6 weeks!
I'm very excited to be able to listen to Bible memory CDs in the car with the girls. We've also noticed that the libraries have pretty much switched from books on tape to books on CDs, so we won't be nearly as limited in what books we can listen to on long car trips now either!
