Rooster Update

Remember the roosters that occasionally populate our neighbors' shed? This afternoon, I heard the crowing again and looked out the window. A rooster was running around free in their backyard! I called Elizabeth over and we spent some time staring together. Then I had the bright idea to grab my camera and take a picture to post on my blog as proof of all these crazy rooster episodes. I got back to the window with my camera just in time to see the rooster disappear around the corner of my neighbors' house. So Elizabeth and I started crowing out the window to see if we could tempt him to come back into sight. (I have a pretty good rooster imitation, if I do say so myself - the real kind, not the kid's farmyard sounds version.)

You all know what's coming. Sure enough, it's not the rooster that comes strutting back around the corner; it's the neighbors' teenage son. He took one look at Ellie and me still crowing out our window and disappeared. Nice move, Allison. Way to befriend the neighbors.
