Revealing God in Everyday Conversation

I ran into an acquaintance from college while running errands today. She asked me what's been going on my life, and as I stumbled through a "not much" answer, I realized that I don't have a good answer ready for that question. What should I say? "Well, I'm really excited about meeting with God in my Bible Studies lately?" "I'm praying desperately for more of God and less of me?"

Actually, as I write those answers, I realize I should have said, "God is doing really amazing things in my life right now. It's exciting to watch Him work."

Of course, then I would have had to answer what exciting things He's doing. (I hope. If she hadn't already blown me off and walked away!) "Materially, He's blessed me with one good thing after another. Financially, He is providing miraculously for our needs when the raw numbers say it's amazing we even own a home. Emotionally, He is my source of peace and joy when it can feel really scary to look at things that are going on in the world right now. How about you? What's been going on with you lately?"

Okay. I've got it. Now I just have to be brave and testify to the hope that I have. But God is good and He enables me to do things that I can't do on my own power. Any bets that He's going to have me run into someone else soon?
