Wasn't today beautiful? And Saturday and Sunday too? We hit the park twice today - just because we could and we wanted to take advantage of the gorgeous weather.
This nice weather stretch was made so wonderful in a large part because of the poor weather that preceded it. I would never have gone to the park twice if I didn't feel so grateful to actually see the sun again. I wouldn't have wanted to go out after dinner if I didn't feel the need to enjoy the chance while I had it. I wouldn't have been so grateful if I hadn't experienced the misery of trying to keep the kids inside for over a week straight!
I think we're like that with God too. Sometimes, we need the bad times to fully appreciate and be grateful for the good times. The bad teaches us how to live in the good. And because of the bad, we are awestruck when God brings us into the good.
He's always the same, in bad weather and good, and in bad times and good. We simply need to open our eyes and hearts to see Him in each time.
