Isaac's appointment tonight cancelled at the last minute, so he was suddenly home with us. He discovered a large hole in his second-to-last pair of jeans, so we went to Unique Thrift to get him some new jeans. We also brought our bags of leaves that had been covered with snow all winter to the leaf recycling center, and stopped in a new neighborhood grocery store.
We live in the Midway. Every grocery store other than Cub is ethnic, most of them Hmong. Did you know that meat markets smell the same no matter what continent they are on? That was an interesting discovery. And this one was indoors and refrigerated (mostly)! I started remembering the meat markets of Guatemala and Bolivia, the ones outside in the heat and open air with whole skinned cows hanging upside down, and I imagined walking through one pregnant. Not a good idea!
