I know I just posted a bunch of stories like this, but it's my blog and I'm four days overdue and I can do what I want! (You don't have to read it if you don't want to.)
Here's a great conversation Elizabeth and I had during lunch today.
Me, curious: "What do we eat a lot of at our house?"
Elizabeth: "New things." (She's right - last night, I made 4 new recipes at once.)
Me: "If you could only have four meals over and over again, what would they be?"
Elizabeth, with no hesitation: "Snack, breakfast, lunch, and dinner."
Me, after laughing: "If you could only have four foods over and over again, what would they be?"
Elizabeth: "Pizza, spaghetti, milk, and water - because then I could eat AND drink." Pause. Then her eyes lit up. "Oh! Restaurant food!"
Me: "Do you remember that last year, Grandpa took you to an apple orchard?"
Elizabeth: "No, but I must have had even more fun, 'cuz Grandpa was there!"
Me: "What are you going tell your preschool class when Amelie is born?"
Elizabeth, becoming very serious: "Please expect to see a baby."
Me: "What the best part of preschool?"
Elizabeth: "That's silly. There is no best part. It's all good."
