Not What She Expected

For Easter, one of the desserts I made was Almond Raspberry Meringues. Elizabeth assumed I was making Mint Meringues, like usual, and when I brought them to the table, explained to our guests, "Mama tried to make mint meringues but they didn't turn out right and so she put some jelly on them to see if that made them any better."
