Different Toys for Different Kids

Isaac and I are enjoying seeing each girl's personality as evidenced by her favorite toys. At Amelie's age, Elizabeth spent all her time with the pretend kitchen. Amelie adores her baby dolls (which we still think is surprising given her wild and busy personality!) but is very into all things small motor: opening jars and bottles, taking marker lids on and off, and playing with colored pegs. I just bought her huge Duplos at a garage sale, so those should keep her busy for a while. At the library today she discovered a wooden Lakeshore puzzle with Domino-type shapes that stack on top of each other, and she was enthralled - taking them off, and on, and off, and on...

I thought that having two girls would mean that we wouldn't need any more toys, that we could just repeat what we already have. I'm finding out that even girls play with very different things.
