Me, after Amelie opened her first Christmas present on Christmas Eve: "What do you say?"
Amelie, politely: "More, please!" (Not okay!)
Amelie, doing a random prayer as we made Santa pancakes: "Da God, we makin' Santa pancakes! Amen!" (Just thought God would want to know!)
Me, reading about snow plowing in the newspaper: "Amen! That's why St. Paul has such bad streets!"
Amelie, indignant: "You missed pray!"
She had a point. I quickly prayed about St. Paul's streets to justify the "Amen!"
Elizabeth, when asked to write down goals for next year: "That Amelie would understand 'No.'" Poor big sister whose stuff keeps getting drawn on!
