One of my friends, a teacher and missionary, just shared some of her feelings after she discovered some of her students read her blog. She weighed her apprehension at being vulnerable against God's call for her to share what He's doing in her life.
It made me think about the intended purpose for my blog. I started blogging because I love reading others' blogs. It makes me feel connected to their lives in spite of distance or lack of time together. Some of their entries make me laugh - I can't get enough cute kid stories or embarrassing moments! Others inspire me or make me think.
That's what I want my blog to be for others: a way to stay connected with my life, to appreciate my cute kid stories and embarrassing moments (I have many!), and hopefully to occasionally inspire others or make them think.
That part is tricky, because although I'm eager to share the ways God is transforming me and working in my life, I have to be respectful of others' privacy. He is such an essential part of my life - actually, He is my life - that it's becoming second nature to sing His praises in all my relationships. He's given me amazing opportunities lately to talk to others about how great He is, and I love that!
So, if I sometimes seem quiet or reticent about sharing that part of my life, know that it's not because God isn't working. He is! I'm just trying to be very aware, like my friend, that I am posting in a public forum and that some stories may not be mine to share.

Just wanted to let me know that your blog is achieving its purpose because I'm both entertained and inspired by it all the time. Thanks for blogging! It helps me still feel connected to my Minnesota/Grace Church crowd.
