We've been working hard to create fun family traditions that are especially good for 4-year-olds who are going to have a big change in their families soon! It's been really fun, so here's what we've been doing if you want to try any.
1. Sundae Mondays: I actually stole this idea from my friend Heather. Her husband has classes every Monday night, so she and the kids make ice cream sundaes after dinner so that they have something to look forward to. After getting to join Heather's family for a Sundae Monday recently, we decided to implement this in our house too!
2. Breakfast for Dinner: This is so easy, but for some reason we've never done it. I just announce that we're having breakfast for dinner, and Elizabeth thinks it's the funniest treat in the world! (She calls me "Daddy" since Daddy usually make breakfast in our house!) You can even wear pajamas if you typically eat breakfast in pajamas. Two nights ago, we had fresh strawberry/pineapple smoothies and oven-baked pancakes with peaches and glazed sausage. I'm definitely making that again!
3. A couple weeks ago when we got home from church, Isaac and I had Elizabeth go play in her room and we made a scavenger hunt around the house for her. We colored pictures of objects in our house with markers since she can't read yet, and taped them up everywhere for her to follow. At the end, she found a stick of gum and a note that said "Great job!" She thought it was so much fun. We even used the teachable moment by talking about how much fun it was and how much we enjoyed planning that special surprise for her, and relating to God loving her even more than we do and having an even more special plan for her.

Great ideas! I had to do a double take when I saw you at church on Sunday. I figured by now you would be taking care of baby. I guess time will tell. I'll be praying!
