Elizabeth's school is doing a Read-a-thon, where the kids are supposed to read at least 40 minutes per day. Elizabeth is trying to do about an hour a day. In celebration of the first day, we turned the living room into a reading fort.
Since toddlers don't understand the concept of a reading fort very well, it wasn't the grand success that I had envisioned. Amelie kept bending the pages of Elizabeth's book and walking around in the fort so that from the outside you could see this little head poking through the tops of the blankets. Inevitably, Amelie and I were soon left to destroy the fort on our own while Elizabeth retreated to the safety of my bedroom.
