I know that Jesus is always alive and risen, but somehow Easter makes celebrating His life and resurrection even more exciting. Add in a glorious spring day and fancy clothes on top of that, and it was a wonderful day! We got out early to take pictures.

I taught my regular Sunday School class, and it was so fun to see all my kids dressed up. I was shocked to see one obstinate little boy who resists normal church clothes all fancied up in full Easter regalia. As he was getting dressed that morning, he told his mother, "I'm going to be too handsome for Mrs. Allison!"

Our friends Daniel and Mapi and their 2-year-old Hannah joined us at our church and came home with us for the afternoon. We had simple appetizers and a fancy meal and dessert.

We hid Easter eggs in the front yard for the girls, and then played and chatted outside until our late meal. What a gorgeous day! The girls blew bubbles, and I studiously looked the other way and allowed Amelie to get grass and dirt stains all over her Easter clothes.

After our meal, Elizabeth shared the Easter story with us using the Resurrection Eggs as prompts. She did a very good job!

We had invited my parents as well, and they blessed us by staying until bedtime. We introduced Elizabeth to Carroms, which is way more fun than Uno and Dominoes in my book! Mom is a master Carroms player, so she took Elizabeth as a partner and that evened things out a bit!

Amelie didn't take a nap until our company left at 4:00, so she was cuddlier than usual!
