Anyway, we played that cycle out this afternoon, and I finally broke down and brought out the big box of dress-up clothes that I'd packed away for a while.

Dress Up Out of That Funk
You know those days when you're trying to do something else (okay, I was trying to play a game on Isaac's cell phone!) and your kids are cranky and wanting your attention and that just makes you want your "break" even more and the kids act out even more and the cycle just gets worse and worse? Of course, the only way to break that ugly cycle is to give your kids the attention they need, and I frequently resist that because it seems like I'm rewarding them for their yucky behavior.
Anyway, we played that cycle out this afternoon, and I finally broke down and brought out the big box of dress-up clothes that I'd packed away for a while.
It looks like Amelie will inherit her big sister's love of shows and microphones.
Five-year-olds (almost six!) still like to dress up. I'm glad. I'll be very sad when she grows out of that!
Everybody needs a good pair of high heels, just ask a toddler.
And thanks to the dress-up clothes, we made it to dinnertime with no casualties!
