Multi-tasking with a toddler who I cannot trust to stay by me in a parking lot or street has led me to a problem I never had before: leaving things on the roof of my car. Last week, I stuck a box of leftover doughnut holes up there while I buckled Amelie in after Bible Study, and a few blocks away from church, I noticed small round things flying off the top of my car. I pulled over, salvaged the few that were still stuck up there, and kept driving. (Hey, it's important to feed Roseville's geese, right?)
Today I stuck my indoor shoes up there while I got Amelie in after ECFE. Sure enough, a few blocks later I heard a big thump and looked back to see one shoe in the middle of the street. I was able to retrieve both shoes, but I think I have learned my lesson: no matter how many things I am juggling, the top of the car is not a good resting place for anything!

I have lost a wallet and watched a sticky beverage spill all the way down the front of our car. I have hopefully learned my lesson. How are mom's supposed to survive?!
