I love the way kids' minds work. Elizabeth gave me a lecture about leaving my wallet in the car yesterday (which I didn't do, by the way): "Mommy, you can't leave your wallet in the car, because if you did, and if you left the door open a little bit, a bug might come in the car and get in your wallet and then every time you took your wallet someplace, the bug would come too!"
Yep. That's why it's a bad idea to leave your wallet in the car!
I attempted to explain that a thief might take it, but Elizabeth gave me a blank look and said, "Isn't stealing illegal?" I replied affirmatively. "Then why would anyone steal it?" I guess that concept is beyond my rule-following daughter.
