Today was Elizabeth's first day of school, and she was ecstatic. Even with a favorite old chapter book, a special pancake breakfast, family prayer time, and an outside photo shoot, the morning dragged on far too slowly...
until the school bus finally came!
Although Isaac and the girls had been waiting on the corner a full ten minutes early, Elizabeth couldn't hold back from running up the bus steps.
I confess that I "helicopter-parented" and met Elizabeth's school bus at school. I watched her get her hand stamped with the number of the bus she arrived on (by her old kindergarten teacher!).
Then she hung up her sweatshirt on her hook while talking eagerly with her friends.
The best part was sitting down at a real desk instead of a kindergarten table!
It's going to be a great year.
