Amelie has been cracking us up lately. Here are a few examples.
Attesting to how big she is getting, she proclaimed, "I'm getting bigger and bigger. I'm getting grown-uppy!" (She has re-used that word several times, and it gets me every time!)
On a walk shortly after Easter, I found half a robin's egg and asked the kids what they thought had been it. With confidence, Amelie shouted, "Jesus!"
While petting our friend's dog (a Corgi, if it matters), Amelie said, "Mommy, I found a match! You have a big mouth like the woof's!"
As we watched a train pass by, Amelie greeted all the green cars: "Hi-lo, Green! Green, you my favorite!" Every single one.
Talking on a pretend phone to Opa, she carried on the following conversation: "Hi, Opa! Opa, you there? Opa, you want to talk to me? Talk to me, Opa! Opa, I talking to you. Why you not talk to me? [Long pause.] Time-out for no talking, Opa!" [And she slammed down the pretend phone.]
