Idyllic Memorial Day

Look! I'm back! And I will try to do better at blogging. My wise father-in-law suggested that I blog and then post to Facebook so the social networking ludites can still participate in the adorable pictures of my girls, so that's what I'll try to do.

We spent Memorial Day down in Faribault with my in-laws. It was really an idyllic day in a gorgeous location with wonderful family. Amelie went wild on the trampoline. Unfortunately, it scared her when I jumped too, so my trampoline fun was sadly limited.

Elizabeth enjoyed riding the horse with Oma and being pushed on the swing by Opa.

Uncle George even got her to practice her much-needed-to-improve ball skills. Seriously, though - can you believe that's their backyard? Idyllic, I kept repeating all day.

Nathaniel and Isaac kept pace with Elizabeth as she tackled most of the trees in the yard. I think it runs in the family.
The idyllism ended briefly when Elizabeth bit off more than she could chew tree-wise. The old board steps leading up to a tree house broke off when she climbed them and she got stuck pretty high up in the air. It took some careful persuading and the strong climbing of a teenager to get her back down!
I'm not sure why we don't go down there every weekend!
