Thoughts on a Baby Leash?

I wonder how Amelie will do this summer at obeying and not running away. I have a feeling she will need to spend a lot of time contained in a stroller or backpack (not my personal parenting preference) to keep her safe.

I am hesitant to try a baby leash, but when I mentioned it among two groups of parents, I was surprised that many of them had tried it.

What do you think? Would it be received with judgment? Or would it be worth the safety?

Been there, done that! And, will continue to do so if need be .. especially since pretty soon here I will have 3 in just over 3 years! I think you will only receive looks or judgement from those who haven't been there or done that. I say it is better to put them on a "leash" than to loose them! And what they sell these days are pretty cute .. we have a monkey back pack looking harness in which the tail is the "leash."

I used not a lease per say, but a long piece of nylon climbing ribbon. High strength and great safety factor. It gives the kid the freedom to explore and do things. but it gives you the freedom to kept the kid safe without being right next to them. I used it on trails and rock climbing and that kind of stuff. Yes, some people will think you are mean, but at least you can keep the kid safe and let them explore at the same time. The kid gets use to it.
