First Camping Trip of the Year

Packing is by far the worst part of camping. Can you see the floor? Neither could we.

The girls loved it when Isaac carried in the extra seat in the van to make room for all our stuff.

We camped over the Fourth of July at Interstate State Park with our friends, just like last year. This year Isabelle was almost 6 and Luke had just turned 3. Isabelle and Elizabeth spent the weekend playing with our new Walkie Talkies. We thought they would work for safety and had not anticipated little girls using them as social networking: "I see a bird... Luke is eating a snack... Do you have to go potty?.. Mommy is chasing Amelie away from the road again..." and so on. It didn't matter if we were across the campground or if they were right next to each other: they loved it!

The Warzechas brought their dog, Zoe. Between Zoe and Luke, Amelie thought she was in heaven. Amelie likes Luke a lot more than he likes Amelie!

We'll see if this is the last year we can fit Amelie into the backpack or if we have one more year. It sure helps for hiking!
