Isaac has been reading Tolkien's The Followship of the Ring to Elizabeth this last month. She loves it and thinks about it all the time. In church last week, she leaned over to me and made a funny face. "That's my Frodo face," she whispered. When we go on walks (she calls them "journeys") she scampers away from imaginary Black Riders. Yesterday, she declared herself Legolas the elf and made Amelie be Gimli the dwarf.
To Isaac's pride and my slight concern, she has started making lists of elvish words she makes up. I'm afraid she is both genetically and environmentally vulnerable to becoming a nerd!
(Don't worry, honey. I like nerds very much.)
