She felt mostly excited and just a little nervous.
Amelie and Daddy walked her down the block to her bus stop. Amelie asked forlornly, "Please can I go to school with Wizabethy?"
I met her at school to walk her in to her classroom. (I know. I'm that mother. I want to be, and she still wants me to. So there!) Elizabeth rides the bus with her best friend Casey every day, so she always looks forward to the bus ride.
She was so excited to see shelves full of chapter books in her classroom!
She came home and announced that second grade is even better than kindergarten, which is high praise indeed! It's going to be a good year.

I'm still "that mom" too, and probably will be until he's in college!
